The Costa Blanca is one of the best places in Europe to ride a bike in winter, which is why professional teams train here from November onwards.
- Winter is the good season. While you would be indoors at home, here you are riding in shorts. Summer afternoons are the ones to avoid, not the winter mornings.
- Tarmac and greenways near the coast, serious climbs inland once you head towards the Sierra. A trekking e-bike covers the first; for the second you will want an e-MTB.
- Heat and batteries. Do not leave the bike in the sun or the battery in a hot car. It is the single most common way people shorten a battery’s life here.
